Executive summary

In September, North African countries showed increased efforts towards technological adoption and digital infrastructure to support linked sectors, including health, financial services, and education.

Algérie Télécom’s announcement that it has surpassed 2.5 million fibre-optic subscribers marks a significant milestone in Algeria’s digital transformation, positioning the country as a leader in African digital infrastructure. Egypt and South Korea launched a five-year, $15 million project to improve digital education across 54 public colleges in Egypt. Morocco, in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), launched the Digital Hub for Sustainable Development (D4SD) and the responsible adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI). Tunisia launched a new initiative to accelerate its digital transformation by implementing 138 projects between 2025 and 2026, aimed at modernising public administration and the national economy.
