Nigeria’s Inauguration Day: How should President Tinubu lead?

When he is sworn in as president later today, the easy part of campaigning ends for Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as Nigeria’s problems become his problems.

Now comes the hard part of governance.

While the cases challenging his victory are still going through court processes, Nigeria’s problems do not tarry. The bulging inbox will not relent.


Which way Nigeria?

The nation waits patiently to see the new administration's direction. Will it stick closer to protectionist policies like the border closure, which affected trade with our neighbours and worsened Nigeria’s economic situation, or will Nigeria show that it is open for business by adopting policies to encourage foreign investment?

The first 100 days of the new administration will reveal much about its posture and intentions. There are many questions to answer, and this article looks at five big priorities that must be addressed.
