Leta Technologies Ltd. (Leta), a Nairobi-based logistics software startup, has secured $5 million in a seed funding round led by Speedinvest GmbH (Speedinvest), with participation from Google LLC (Google) through its Black Founders Fund and Equator Africa UK LLP (Equator) through its Equator Africa Fund. Founded in 2021, Leta provides an AI-powered platform that optimises last-mile delivery, supply chain operations, and fleet management by offering real-time tracking, route optimisation, and shipment monitoring to enhance efficiency and reduce costs for logistics providers across Kenya, Nigeria, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. The funding will support Leta’s continued expansion and product development, enabling businesses to streamline logistics operations with advanced automation. This investment follows Leta’s $3 million pre-seed round in 2022, which attracted backing from Chandaria Capital, Verdant Frontiers Fintech and a group of angel investors.
