Financial Services Transaction Brief: Inua Capital invests in Flow Uganda

Transaction Summary

On January 16 2025, Inua Capital, a Ugandan private equity impact investment firm, announced its equity investment in Flow Uganda (Flow), the Ugandan operations of Flow Global, a tech-enabled microfinancier focused on driving financial inclusion among rural and peri-urban micro-entrepreneurs. Operating in Uganda, Rwanda, Zambia, and Madagascar, Flow Global provides credit to empower underserved communities, addressing critical liquidity needs and supporting the growth of micro and small enterprises, including mobile money agents and other micro-entrepreneurs. This investment, aimed at scaling Flow’s impact and reach in Uganda, was provided through the Inua Impact Fund, a close-ended fund launched in 2023 with over $8 million in committed capital. The fund targets small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) requiring financing between $100,000 and $500,000. The fund’s backers include Investisseurs & Partenaires and the EU-backed EDFI AgriFI initiative.
