Transaction Summary
On 15 January 2025, DOB Equity, an East Africa-based impact investment fund, announced its equity investment in SPOUTS International (SPOUTS), a company founded in 2011 and operating primarily in Uganda and Rwanda. SPOUTS manufactures and distributes locally produced ceramic water filters and clean cooking stoves. These solutions provide safe, affordable, and eco-friendly alternatives to traditional boiling methods, reducing indoor air pollution, deforestation, and carbon emissions. This funding will enable SPOUTS to scale its operations across East Africa, expand its manufacturing capacity, and strengthen its distribution networks. Additionally, the investment will enhance SPOUTS’ carbon credit programme. This is the second funding round for SPOUTS, following a $3.2 million equity investment by Incofin Investment Managers in November 2024. DOB Equity operates as an evergreen fund, reinvesting its returns and ensuring sustained support for its portfolio companies.
