Best of 2022: 5 positive stories from 2022
Positive stories from 2022

I speak for the majority, if not everyone, when I say that 2022 was a year at full speed.

It has been an action-packed year, from entertainment (shout out to Afrobeats stars and Nollywood who stayed at the top of their games) to economic events that never seemed to catch a break.

Key takeaways:

  1. 2022 has been an eventful year, from the Russia-Ukraine war to global inflation. But there certainly have been some bright spots.

  2. Despite the global slowdown in cinema business, Nollywood movies Brotherhood and King of Thieves grossed over ₦300 million each.

  3. Nigeria has its first World Record in Track and Field history as Tobi Amusan raced to the top in the World Athletics Championships and Commonwealth Games.

Merely two months into the year, while the world was still recovering from 2020, Putin dropped a bomb, literally. That move on February 24 was a defining theme for 2022.
