Imagine that you had a serious medical condition affecting multiple organs. In search of a solution, doctors from far and wide get in touch, all of whom say they can cure you. To test their claims, you ask them for references, as well as a detailed plan for how they will go about treating you so you can return to health.
Yet after making this request, some of the doctors go strangely silent about their plans, while loudly insisting they are the best person for the job.
Nigeria is very much like this patient. An array of doctors indicate that they have the solutions to this patient’s many problems, while some of the most prominent doctors appear reluctant to engage at length and answer the many questions the patient has, not just about the causes of the ailments, but the road to recovery from them.
